In this and any flu season, it is important to take responsibility for
& C2 F8 R1 @( k; jyour own health. Alberta Health and Wellness points out that the
4 R4 P% N' q$ H2 M( i @) n3 t* \* Jinfluenza virus is contagious and is spread person to person via close
' V$ n n3 k9 Dcontact. The virus also rests on hard surfaces such as counters and
$ }0 U, v2 y+ Rdoorknobs and can spread when people touch contaminated surfaces and* `& Y8 ]8 V" F! |3 S2 }) X( s
then unknowingly transfer the virus to their eyes, nose or mouth.5 j t/ U- `$ z% [1 F* F1 ^" M% V
Practicing good preventive hygiene (e.g., wash your hands and cover your4 R7 Z% ]4 M1 S& k/ Q
cough) and following the self-care practices as outlined by Alberta/ r/ x3 w* A: @3 f# Z; O7 z( i
Health and Wellness will greatly assist in minimizing the chance of @& ~6 M4 E% s/ f4 p
