Ginger Snaps

8 \ z" u) A( y/ H, T+ I$ t1/2 cup margarine, 1 cup white or brown suger, 1 beaten egg, 1/4 cup molasses, 2 cups flour, 3 teaspoons baking soda, 1 teaspoon crea of tartar, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1teaspoon cinnamon, 1 teaspoon cloves, 2 teaspoons ginger powder.

+ _6 c, S- S2 d% D" U+ Q' o- d5 R* `Mix these ingredients in the order in which they appear in the recipe, but the dry ingredients (flour, b.s, cr of tatar, salt and the spices should all be sifted together before mixing them into the margarine and sugar that have been creamed together (this simply means using the back side of a larger spoon to blend the marg. and sugar together) then add the egg and molasses. When adding the dry ingredients,it is best to add in three or four steps rather than all at one time to avoid the mixture becoming lumpy.

form the dough into balls about walnut size. Shake in a plastic or paper bag with white sugar. Place on cookie sheet about 1/2'' apart. Put in a preheated oven 350 degrees for 12 mins., \4 c$ J% k, }8 j7 v
