Requirements for Teacher Certification in Alberta
+ B9 `8 Q7 L5 K4 ^) {Applicants for the Alberta interim professional certificate are required to present the following:
1 h0 m1 W# C' Y& L1.        4 years of university education inclusive of a degree and a basic teacher preparation program from an institution acceptable to the Alberta Minister of Education.
5 j& k0 |- R: E9 M2.        Evidence of valid certification as issued by the certificating authority in both the jurisdiction where the teacher was trained and the jurisdiction where the teacher last taught.
Teacher preparation programs offered through in-service, or through self-directed study are not accepted for certification purposes. Pre-service teacher preparation programs completed by distance delivery may not be accepted in their entirety.
, u1 Z/ C6 Y. D5 g. lDegrees are subject to scrutiny on a course by course basis. Deductions may be met if the institution or course work is not acceptable to the Alberta Minister of Education. Denominational or doctrinal courses, audit courses, and courses not considered for degree credit are not recognized for certification purposes in Alberta.

- W8 a- r  {. ^9 s; F# CThe Registrar may issue an Interim Professional Certificate only to a Canadian citizen or an individual lawfully admitted to Canada for permanent residence. Applicants born outside Canada must provide proof of their citizenship and/or immigration status.
+ ~/ Z+ \( R5 ^Confidential Disclosure and Criminal Record Check Authorization
; c7 O) M0 A; Q% U- z/ _All applicants are required to complete in full a Confidential Disclosure and Criminal Record Check Authorization form that must accompany the application form for certification. The authorization form permits the Registrar to conduct, at his discretion, a criminal record check or inquiry from any police authority or other authority, organization or institution with regard to any criminal conviction or charge, conditional discharge, or pardon. Despite the response to any of the questions on the authorization form, an applicant may be selected on a random basis to provide the Registrar with a current criminal record check.
The Registrar may refuse to issue a certificate to a person who has been convicted of an indictable offence in Canada or an equivalent conviction in a jurisdiction outside Canada, or to a person whose teaching certificate is or has been suspended or cancelled, or to a person who the Registrar has reason to believe should not be issued a certificate.

All applicants for professional certification must declare that they are able and committed to applying the appropriate knowledge, skills, and attributes toward student learning as described by the Teaching Quality Standard Ministerial Order (016/97). They also must commit to teaching practice and professional growth in keeping with the Standard and the Teacher Growth, Supervision and Evaluation Policy.
' I3 O# {+ X! I7 a2 J3 ]7 vProfessional Standing
A current statement of professional standing must be sent directly to the Registrar from both the certificating authority where the applicant completed his/her teacher training and from the jurisdiction where they are presently teaching or last taught.
Language Proficiency
  x$ c, F4 P, \; iApplicants whose native language is other than English or French may be asked to submit a taped recording to demonstrate their language proficiency in either English or French. A personal interview, in lieu of a tape, can be arranged by appointment with the Teacher Development and Certification Office at (780) 427-2045 once a formal evaluation of their academic and professional credentials has been completed.
Issuance and re-issuance of the Alberta Interim Professional Certificate
  n: a, ?# X; vWhen an applicant has been found eligible for certification, the Alberta Interim Professional Certificate is issued. This certificate is valid for a three-year period and may be extended or re-issued thereafter at the written request of an Alberta Superintendent of Schools.
/ }& h0 w" r) D; T6 k& iAcquiring Permanent Professional Certification
When the holder of an Alberta Interim Professional Certificate has taught in the province's school system for a minimum of two school years (400 days), his or her Interim Professional Certificate can be made permanent. A Permanent Professional Certificate is issued, at the written recommendation of a Superintendent of Schools or other Officer acceptable to the Minister of Education, when all other criteria stipulated in the Certification of Teachers Regulation 3/99, Amended 213/2003 have been met.

Application fees are determined by the location of the institution providing the applicant's teacher preparation program:
        Prepared within Alberta        $200.00

        Prepared outside Canada or the U.S.A.        $250.00

Getting Ready
        Choose the application form that pertains to where you completed your initial teacher preparation program.
Have the following information available to complete the web application form:

Completing the Application Form
) }( W% j' Q: W' m" e/ f) F0 yComplete all relevant sections of the form.
All application types require a completed confidential disclosure and criminal record check authorization. If you are currently charged or have been charged with a criminal offence, ensure all requested information is completed.
Once all details are completed press submit button. For security purposes, once you have pressed "Submit" you will not be able to return to the application form. Do not attempt to print application at this point.
The Submit button will direct you to the PRINT and PAYMENT screen.
You must print out the application form at this point and sign in the designated "Applicants Signature" sections.
FEE Payments and Documents
5 G/ l+ l; Z; l2 S. I% b7 eYou have the option to pay the application fees by Visa or MasterCard * through the Web site once you have printed out the application form. Should you prefer to pay by cheque or money order, send the appropriate fee with your application form, quoting your assigned reference number.
0 i  C; O4 n$ ?Mail the completed form along with a photocopy of your birth certificate to Alberta Education, Teacher Development and Certification Branch, 10044-108 Street, Edmonton, Alberta, T5J 5E6. Applications will not be processed if the signed application form, fee and required documentation have not been submitted.
0 ~4 N' v0 g: T, Q4 FRead instructions applicable to the type of application you complete for details of the documents that will be required to complete the evaluation of your credentials.
Notification and Processing
You will receive an email confirming a successful submission. Do Not Attempt to submit additional applications. If you missed reporting information, send this information in with your signed form.
Applications will be processed on the basis that all documentation has been received. Please allow a minimum of 8 weeks for evaluation of credentials for applicants outside of Alberta before contacting our office regarding the status of your application.
The on-line web applications are to be used by first time applicants for Alberta teaching authority only. You may not use this on-line application if you previously held Alberta teaching authority. Please contact the school authority you are employed with to apply for an extension or re-issuance of your teaching authority.

不知楼主是否知道有关翻译考试的证书机构或学校课程？老公在国内是英语老师，只能找类似的“专业”工作了。
